Starting from 26 September 2013, Cambodia Angkor Air will run its daily flight from Siem Reap (former Angkor capital of Cambodia) to the most busiest commercial city of China – Guangzhou. The route is prompted from the forecast about a great boom of Chinese tourists to visit Angkor Wat in the next few years. In the first half of 2013, Chinese tourist reached over 200,000 arrivals and was the third market of the country after Vietnam and Korea.
Daily flight from Siem Reap to Guangzhou Baiyun International airport uses Airbus A321 jet aircraft, which makes the trip takes 2 hours and 35 minutes.
With the newest route, Cambodia will extend its total international routes to 7 routes linking Phnom Penh and Siem Reap to Bangkok, Hanoi, Hochiminh City and Guangzhou. The airline also has a plan to open flights to Shanghai, China and Soul, Korea in the near future.
